MORE THAN A SHOW OF BEAUTY

Please note that our event is more than a “beauty pageant”, it is a re-affirmation of life over 50.

The pageant was established because the founder spent 3 years of her life battling complications from Sarcoidosis and thrombocytopenia. She knows all too well how illness can affect one’s quality of life. In her quest to recover, Ms. Hood made lifestyle changes that helped her regain good health. She changed her diet, discontinued the use of certain products and incorporated meditation and regular exercise into her life. This is what drove her to create a catalyst to promote healthier life style choices for African American women.

The pageant will showcase women, over 50 that epitomize the fact that when you eat right, exercise, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and find your purpose in life, no matter what age you are, you can have a lively, productive, and rewarding life.
